Thought I should share a lost Disney world. So heres River Country!

River Country opened on June 20th (My Birthday!) 1976 and had a semi successful run until closing on November 2nd 2001, and then permanently closing on January 20th 2005. River Country was Walt Disney Worlds first and only water park until being joined by Typhoon Lagoon on June 1st 1989 and Blizzard beach on April 1st 1995, it was also the smallest. The theme of River Country was an Old Swimming hole with such attractions as “White Water Rapids” and “Whoop ‘N Holler Hollow, it also featured a nature walk on Bay lake, where River country was almost on top of and looked like it shared water with.

Since it’s close Disney has pretty much abandoned River Country, only putting up fences  to keep people out. There has been a few people that have gone and taken pictures of it in its overgrown condition. There have been a few different reasons why River Country supposedly closed, 1. That their was something deadly in the lake it bordered and 2. A law was passed that water parks could not use water from lakes that has not been cleaned. This is not for certain and my be completely wrong because no one from Disney has given an exact answer. 

Every Attraction and Building in River Country is still sitting in the park. The vegetation is overgrown and most parts are unrecognizable, some say that the theme music still plays in the park even though it was abandoned over 11 years ago.

So finally my voice teacher is letting me do a Disney song! If you guys didn’t know i’ve taken voice lesson for like 7 years, but anyways I was wondering if anyone would like to hear me sing? The song is “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2.  Any takers?
